This new film chronicles the creation of Bam Margera’s classic music video for the Finnish band THE 69 EYES, titled “Lost Boys”, which was a European smash hit released in 2005. This unseen behind-the-scenes documentary has all of the hallmark pranks, stunts, skateboarding, and mayhem you’d expect from a Bam Margera production.
And there’s more big surprises. Bam‘s new movie includes contemporary interviews from Jackass veteran Steve-O, and CKY / Viva La Bam alumni Chris Raab and Brandon Novak. Plus, the fans will see recently uncovered archival footage of Ryan Dunn, the CKY Crew, Bam’s parents Phil and April, Ville Valo of H.I.M, and Jimmy Pop of Bloodhound Gang.
And the best part is, Margera is releasing this movie as a free movie for the fans, on YouTube. You read that correctly- it’s 100% FREE!
Bam has produced this documentary as a gesture of gratitude for his fans who have provided 30 years of love and appreciation for his body of work.
Margera comments, “We wanted to make this movie to give love to the fans. Because it’s love from the hearts of our fans that has preserved the memory of our work for all these years. And love is the most important thing.”
Director Joe Frantz, who is the cinematographer / producer responsible for a majority of Bam’s shows and movies, explains, “We shot this film in 2004, during the production of THE 69 EYES “Lost Boys” music video. It was a huge success, but the deadline was insane, and we didn’t have an opportunity to edit the behind-the-scenes movie- until now. The fans are intensely excited to see this unreleased film. Watching this unseen footage is like riding a time machine and reliving nostalgic memories from a beloved era.”
THE 69 EYES vocalist Jyrki 69 provides context, “Our 2005 Lost Boys music video was an homage and tribute to the 1987 iconic horror movie. So it’s fitting that our documentary will be released on Halloween. It’s love for the movie, love for the video, and love from our band. It’s a fond memory resurrected.”
Bam and Frantz have created many classic music videos and documentaries for bands such as HIM, CKY, and Clutch. “Lost Boys Never Die” is a tremendous follow up that has a large heart, with tons of unseen action and drama that the fans have been praying to watch. This is an instant classic, five stars, hands-down.
